The first Beach stop in our Tour. Kuta (on the island of Bali) had amazing beaches with high waves and a really strong rip tide (and slightly annoying sales people that wanted you to buy their wares). Make sure you stay away from the red flags! It also gave us our first taste of Bhuddist/Hindu religion. Sorry, there are too many pictures to label independently.
Considered the cultural and artistic centre of Indonesia. Stayed at a quaint hostel called Tung Jun - a family run property that converted their home to multiple very comfortable rooms. We also visited the Monkey Forest here. Sorry, there are too many pictures to label independently.
Travelled to Lovina by a tiny bus that struggled to go up the mountain. The black volcanic beaches of Lovina were not as tourist-friendly with pigs, chicken, men peeing on the beach and children going to the "toilet" in the water. Sorry, there are too many pictures to label independently.
From Lovina we took a bus for hours to the edge of the island of Bali, took a ferry to the island of Java and then took a train to Jakarta. Total travel time > 24 hours. Finally got into Jakarta and ended up in a seedy hotel with a toilet that didn't flush and Abraham slept on a mattress on the floor with cockroaches and ants. Needless to say we changed hotel the very next morning. The Ape sanctuary in the Jakarta Zoo was worth it. Sorry, there are too many pictures to label independently.
