Arrived in "KL" and did the backpacker thing and looked for a place to stay via the Lonely Planet guide. We got a place next to the historic Chinesetown. We decided to fill ourselves with "culture" and made our way to the national museum. Can't miss the Petronas Towers and the prison in the middle of the city. Sorry, too many pictures to individually label.
Second stop in Malaysia was the 130 million year old rain forest Taman Negara. This is a REAL jungle. The best thing was the 5 hour hike where we got kinda lost. It got really physical at times with giant bugs and snakes and really creepy sounds coming from the dense forest. Sorry, too many pictures to individually label.
After toiling and sweating in Taman Negara, we decided to have another Beach stop in the north of Malaysia in the Perhentian Islands, specifically Kecil. This was heaven on earth. The water was crystal clear and warm. Book ahead though, we were lucky that someone was checking out as we checked in. It was paradise. Sorry, too many pictures to individually label.
